Train Horn Video (It never gets old)

Sent in by Chad Starkovich

I still remember the day Adam called me about this video and if he had somewhere I could post it. I probably watched it 20 times that day and was too happy to post it on my website.

long live the train horn.

Ice Cream Paint Job

Beau and I heard this song a few weeks ago....we looked at each other and both knew it would have been something Adam would have emailed us. I laugh every time I hear it imagining the video he would have made to this one.

Charlie and I send our love especially today. We miss you!

Two Years Today

Today is two years since Adam passed away. We all miss him dearly. I still think about him every day. Please continue to keep Adam, Cindy, and our family and friends in your prayers, especially today.

In the spirit of Adam, he wouldn't want us all weeping today. Here is a video he took in San Fransisco, just after he and Cindy were married.

Who Needs Autotuning?

Before Adam and I could drive, our Mom drove us around everywhere. She liked to listen to LA99 (doesn't exist anymore) and some of the songs drove us crazy. I remember specifically when Seal's song "Kiss From a Rose" came out, they played it nonstop. To get my mom to change the station, Adam and I would start singing the song annoyingly out of tune. Eventually my Mom would get sick of it and change the station. We then learned that this was our ticket to get my Mom to change the station any time we heard some awful music.

I still find myself doing this every so often when I'm driving by myself. It's a nice reminder.

Remote Control Cars

When I was growing up, I loved remote control cars. The only problem was, so did Adam. I remember that there were a few Christmases and birthdays that I received a really nice remote control car. I probably got to play with them for 2 weeks before finding out that they didn't work right any more. For instance, I remember getting home from school one day and the first thing I did was get out my remote control car. As soon as I set it down in the street and moved the stick to make it go, I noticed that the car would not go straight any more, and would only turn left and go in circles. I was so upset. I later came to find out that Adam and Jeremy loved to take my remote control cars when I wasn't around and run them through deep puddles, jump curbs/ramps, and pretty much run it into the ground in whatever way possible.

When I got into high school and Adam had moved out, I asked for a remote control car for Christmas. I FINALLY was able to use it for more than two weeks without having to worry about Adam running it into a swimming pool or something.

Card

I have been packing up the house and came across a card I gave to you for our 3rd anniversary. I wanted to type what I wrote so I can read it often as the cards are going in a box for now.

"I still get stars in my eyes over you!" is the saying on the front
Happy 3 yr anniversary! I love that I am still discovering more things to LOVE you for. I think this year is going to be a great year. I am so proud of all your accomplishments, especially your new job. I love how you take care of me, Charlie, and Lil' Lucy. You are so much fun and so caring. Thanks for being a great hubby.

I think of Adam and Paul often too and how much fun they must be having. I'm sure Adam gave Paul a huge hug and is showing him the ropes up there.

Thursday, February 5, 2009

I just finished watching Adam and Paul on You Tube blowing the horn and scaring people. I still get a kick out of watching it and hearing them laugh in the background. It's hard to believe that they are both gone. They're probably entertaining St. Peter and the angels. Heaven will never be the same!

Oysters - Dragos Style

I'm not sure how it started, but Adam started grilling oysters on the half-shell a few years ago with a recipe that was similar to how Dragos of New Orleans cooks them. Cindy always made the sauce, and Adam would shuck the oysters, and I would usually help grilling them. They were amazing. In 2006 Adam decided that we would grill some at the tailgate before an LSU football game. Well we did, and everybody not at our tailgate just stood there and watched in awe. We had people coming up to us and asking if they could add some. I remember one guy walked up trying to trade some of his food (deer sausage and boudin) for some of our Oysters. I remember him hesitating, and then giving him about 2 or 3 oysters, hahaha.

I haven't had those oysters in forever. Just another thing I really miss about Adam.
